Suggestions for Success

  1.  Have 5-10 hockey pucks or some type of ball (street hockey, tennis, stick handling ball) ready to go.
  2.  Have a designated area for shooting with a relatively smooth surface.  Driveway, basement floor, plastic mat, plywood or other material all make for a good shooting surface.
  3. Plan ahead to complete a certain amount of shots per day. It will be difficult to complete 5000 shots if you delay starting.
  4. Set up a net, targets, plywood or something to aim at when shooting. Take it easy on garage doors and siding!
  5.  All shots count! Wrist shots, snap shots, slap shots, back hands and one timers are all good options. Practice shooting to different locations of your target.
  6. Remember proper form, and challenge yourself, move farther away, or shoot from different locations. Keep quickness, accuracy and moving around in mind while practicing . Have fun and good luck!

Reminder

Regardless of final tally, all players should turn in your sheets at the end of the contest. All participants who register will be recognized in the 1000/2000/3000/4000/5000 shot club categories. Parents, please encourage our young athletes to attempt this challenge.
