Overtime Thriller Sees Witches fall just shy of the Championship

The Brewer Witches 12U Travel team journeyed north this weekend to attend the Challenge Cup hosted at the Superior Propane Center in Moncton New Brunswick.

Friday's action saw two games, the first against the Sackville Flyers from Nova Scotia saw Brewer prevail 5-1. The second game that evening saw a Brewer 4-2 victory over the Truro Bearcats to improve their record to 2-0.

Saturday's lone game against the Moncton Hawks was a tight 2-1 victory for Brewer, putting them in first place heading into the crossovers.

Sunday's action was thrilling, after a late goal by the Pictou County Crushers sent the game into overtime, the 5 minute 3v3 solved nothing, and it was Quinn Curran scoring the lone goal in the shootout that sent Brewer to the Championship.

A back and forth battle against the Sussex Rangers saw the teams deadlocked 5-5 after 3 periods. In the 3v3 OT Sussex scored to win the tournament.

A great weekend for the 12U team who represented Brewer well in their first action in Canada
